Kathleen Smith's NYC Marathon Team Teal Fundraising Page
I've previously participated in a marathon as part of a charity fundraiser. It's both motivating and rewarding to run in support of a cause that works tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of others. This time, though, its personal.
In June 2019 my sister, Sandy, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It's been a time of surgery and treatment, tears and hope. Her fight continues as it does for so many women.
As family, as friends, as people who care, we can't fight for them. But that doesn't mean we can't be part of the fight. I'm grateful for the opportunity to run as part of Team Teal. Please join us by giving generously in support of the mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters and aunts who are the face of this disease and fight every day with determination and hope.
